Rajkot cyber crime police arrested two men on Wednesday for allegedly cyberstalking teenage girls by morphing their pictures on social media.
The accused, who in both cases are in their mid-20s, morphed the pictures of minor girls and harassed them by sending them obscene images.
Ejaz alias Soyeb Bhadula (25), a resident of Bhagvatipara, was arrested in the first case. Police say Ejaz, a vegetable vendor, downloaded the girl’s Instagram pictures on December 31, 2021. On another Instagram account that he had created, he morphed the picture and posted it. Ejaz used to send the morphed pictures to the teenage girl using his account.
In a second case, police arrested Nilesh Khakhra (28), a resident of Manavadar town in the Junagadh district for allegedly harassing a 16-year-old Rajkot girl over social media. Neilesh, who is unemployed, downloaded the pictures of the girl from her Instagram account and morphed them with pictures of nude models. Nilesh also asked the victim to send him nude photographs, which she had been ignoring for two months.
The girl’s father informed the cybercrime police about the online harassment when he get about it. The accused were both charged under sections 354 (a) (b), 66 (c) of the IPC and the Information Technology Act.
